Each month, we show you a short film that’s moved us beyond the day – meaningful stories that inspire us to pause, think and feel.

When Eric Grandon discovered beekeeping, he had no idea that the bees would give him the power to transform both his own life, and the lives of many others.

Beekeeping is a lifesaving form of therapy for Grandon, a U.S. Army veteran who suffers from PTSD after 20 years in combat. For the past several years, Eric has invited other trauma survivors to his farm so they could experience the healing powers of beekeeping.

Directed by Erin Brethauer and Tim Hussin, Eric and the Bees is a moving portrayal of trauma, unlikely peace, and the quiet beauty of helpfulness.

“It’s like walking through a door and you’re sick on one side and completely healed on the other.”
